An Update

In this post, I would like to mention some of the steps that I take to conserve. Though my part is small, it is essential that everyone should contribute their part. Ok, there a few things I do. The first thing is my mode of transport to school. I used to rely on my father for everything because I live a lot farther from school. So transportation was a problem to me. Then I started using the school bus. But when there began special classes for me (to cover the syllabus fast), I wasn't able to use the school bus. Again I had to rely on my father. So to eliminate this problem, my relying on my father, as well as preventing wastage of fuel, I asked my father to buy me an Electric Scooter. I asked my father for about 2 years and atlast bought me an Ultra Motors Marathon. With a moderate speed of 27 kmph and a 80 km per charge distance is very useful for me. Low maintenance cost, zero emissions, suitable for long distance travelling and at the same time safe traveling and no need for a license suited me totally well. I am now using it for about 2 months and I have no problems.

Then, as we all know, trees are the key to almost 80% of the world's problems. Just sit down and think about it. You'll find that we would not have been in this trouble had it not been for our extensive deforestation. So on my part, I bought 7 new plants (not trees) and now I take care of them a lot. This is too small a thing to brag about. But if each and everyone is able to do it, then we will have a green Earth.

Next, electricity must also be consumed. Most of electricity os still being produced from Coal Power plants. If we shift over eco friendly methods like bio fuels, solar energy etc., then life style would be a lot different for us. They say that solar energy is not bring harvested at night. But energy needs at night time is much less. Thus energy saved during the day can be used. Also setting up an International Power Grid will be a lot useful so that countries getting sunlight will be able to distribute power to the countries having night.

We know that our resources (fuel) are not going to last much longer. After about 40 years, we won;t have them. Either we should conserve them or we should switch over to other resources to avoid the extinction of both mankind and other animals on Earth.

A Global Problem that we face

As we all know, global warming is one of the major problems that we face today. Though we realize it, we have not taken any steps on a major scale to put an end to it and then bring back the Earth to it's normal state. We do know about it. We also fear that something worse will happen. But very few people actually do something on their part. If the same is done by everyone, then definitely it is possible that life will be back to normal. We will also be able to improve technically a lot more than now without causing danger to wildlife. They have their share on Earth as we do.

Rather than explaining what to do, what I can do is just spread an awareness and I find that the Internet is the best place. People know it, but they don't take it seriously. I will update the blog regularly. I am doing my +2, so it won't be often that I will be posting, but I will do it when I find time.

For my first post, I want to say a few things about the steps that are being taken now.

There a lot of programs on the Discovery channel like Next World and Discovery Project Earth that show us what people are doing today about cutting down fuel consumption and at the same time improve and develop. You can sign up for the Discovery channels news letters here. On these programs, you can see that quite a lot of steps are taken. But they are not being implemented on large scale because they require a lot of investment and people show volunteer to these new ideas. Just telling out that "I conserve" will alone won't help. So to whomever reads this post, I request you, "Help save our Planet Earth".
